What we collect

This website collects personal data in one place only: the enquiry form. Those fields are your name, an email address or phone number, and what you tell us about your business. Two fields are optional: the service you are interested in and your website address.

Alongside what you type, we record the time the enquiry was sent and which page of this site you sent it from, so we can answer you in context. Nothing else about your visit is recorded.

We run no advertising trackers and build no profile for advertising. We do use Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used, including a replay of the pointer movement, clicks and scrolling in a visit, and it runs only if you choose Allow on the banner. Choose No thanks and nothing is loaded at all. You can change your mind by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which forgets the choice and asks again.

Our web host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.

Why we can use it

When you send an enquiry you are asking us to contact you, so our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering people who approach the business. Server logs are kept on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.

We do not send marketing email to people who have only made an enquiry, and we do not sell or rent your details to anyone.

Who else sees it

An enquiry is delivered to our own inbox through a transactional email or form provider acting as our processor, and it is stored in our email. A copy is also written to the server this website runs on, so that an enquiry is not lost if that delivery fails. Our website host processes the request in order to serve the page.

We do not transfer your data outside the UK or EEA except where a provider we use does so under the safeguards allowed by UK data protection law. If you would like the current list of providers, ask us and we will tell you.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted within 24 months. That applies to both copies: the one in our inbox and the one held on the website server. Where we go on to work together, we keep the correspondence for the life of the engagement and for six years afterwards, which is the period we may need it for tax and contractual records. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host and then rotated away.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it. Where processing is based on consent you can withdraw that consent at any time. We answer these requests within one month and we do not charge for them.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling their helpline. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and enquiries are transmitted encrypted. Access to the inbox that receives them, and to the server copy, is limited to the people in the studio who need it. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and we will tell you and the ICO promptly if a breach ever puts your rights at risk.

Contact

For anything in this policy, including a request about your data, write to us at info@ecommercerevolt.com or by post to 37 Gray Street (B7), Bordesley Green, Birmingham, West Midlands, B9 4LS, United Kingdom. You can also call +44 7999 536107.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes to what we collect or why will be described here rather than made quietly.
